Sylran D'Autrey

A revered gladiator in the Ul’dahn pits, a crowd favorite well known for the artistry that has become synonymous with his appearances in the ring. Sylran is a charismatically egotistical fighter who often plays to the echoing cheers of his supporters in the crowd, known for drawing out fights, grandstanding and unleashing savage brutality within the arena. Knowing full well that every extra crack of bone and spray of blood will further cement his legacy in the desert pits. Once a pirate Sylran turned to the Ul’dahn gladiatorial pits after the calamity, always keen to keep his senses about him and he could sense that the time of piracy ruling the high seas was coming to an end. Regardless of what his mates may have felt, he wasn’t going to find himself encountering a short drop and very sudden stop at the hands of Merlwyb and her Maelstrom. Having heard plenty of rumors as to the supposed dark truth that lay just beneath the dusty surface of the affluent city Ul’dah, he came seeking out his own further glory and riches. This Elezen is no slave but a free gladiator, one willing to risk everything for coin and fame. No other details of his past exist, at least none that can be verified as truth. When he’s not sundering skulls within the pit, he further tempers his skills as a sellsword. A man with a skewed moral compass, more than happy to employ his talents to fit almost any situation…for the right gil of course. His behavior otherwise is quite predictable, making a hearty sum of gil just from his appearances in the arena, he’s often found waist deep in some sort of debauchery. Booze, drugs, whores and fine tobacco, what else does a man need? The true oddity of his behavior however is his vested interest in mechanics and engineering of all sorts. Since the Calamity he’s acquired a fair amount of technology from all across Eorzea. Though what exactly he builds or does with his contraptions, no one is quite sure. When not under other employ, he vanishes into his workshop and can sometimes be lost there for days at a time before re emerging. No one has set foot inside of his workshop and lived to see another day. No matter what the job is, discretion is something that is non negotiable for Syl.
